In memory of Gre4
A villager has died today,
I heard those words with my soul,
My ears unable to understand,
I hang my head and grieve
For
A villager has died today,
I am told a name,
In my mind I see a face,
But I know nothing more
But it doesn’t matter,
A villager has died today,
And the whispers pass from door to door,
Among friend, enemy and neighbor
And the village grieves
A young man died today,
The newspaper says,
And the phones ring
And the church bells sing
And the city mourns
Strangers ask themselves,
How such a thing could happen,
To a boy they never knew,
How could such horror be true,
And the city folk grieve
A part of us died today,
And the village mourns
And the city grieves
And we bow our heads
And put out our hands
To hold those among us who have need
To cope with what we cannot understand
And the community bands
Together
To remember
A friend lost
In memory of Gre4
I heard those words with my soul,
My ears unable to understand,
I hang my head and grieve
For
A villager has died today,
I am told a name,
